So you’ve started your Invisalign journey. Welcome to the club! Heres are things you should know about Invisalign to make the process smoother.
Know how many trays you will have
The trays are called “aligners” they are clear but definitely not invisible. Know how many you have will give you a great outline for how long you will have Invisalign.
Attachments are your friends
They are these small bumbs that are attached to your teeth to help the aligners move and fit to your teeth.Attachments feel really gross at first but you will get use to it.

Clean teeth after every meal
These may seem like a lot because it is! Honestly you will be pretty uncomfortable if you don’t though. Food and all kinds of stuff will be stuck in between your teeth which will make it harder for your aligner to move and may cause pain.
Wear retainers 22 hours a day
Listennnn wearing your aligners is essential! How else are they going to work! Think about it people with metal braces wear them 24/7 to move so why wouldn’t you have to wear yours ?
Do not eat or drink anything other than water
Honestly even if you want to eat with them in you can’t it’s impossible. Also eating and drinking with them in makes them really dirty like its gross. They will also start to smell weird.
Always put the trays in the case while eating
I can not tell you how many times I almost lost my Invisalign aligners because I put then in a napkin or my pocket. Make sure you put them back in your case. They will be cleaner and less likely to get lost!

Don’t whiten your teeth
There is literally no point in whiting your teeth! You have attachments bonded to your teeth so whitening will actually make the color of your teeth worse. Wait until you are finished with Invisalign to get those babies pearly!
Use chewies for 15 minutes a day
Chewing on chewies lol will help retainers mold to your teeth faster. They also lock in Invisalign when it’s hard to get them all the way on your teeth!

When its time for a new aligners change them at night
This has been my go to when it comes to reducing pain! When you first change your trays they are so uncomfortable it’s much easier to change them at night and let your teeth get use to them!
