Shoot a Music Video
Shooting a music video it the perfect way to showcase your talent and give your audio a visual. Showcase your other talents like acting or dancing. You can give people a new perspective on you as an artist as well as the song you are promoting.Make sure the video is done well but also creative to keep viewers watching and interested to see your other projects.
Take Promo Pics
Promotional pictures can be used for multiple reasons! All of thoughs reasons deal with marketing and branding and should be done professionally or at least look professionally done.

Sell Merch
Merchandise is a walking billboard for you! This creates brand awareness and give your supports a feeling of pride when wearing your swag.
Selling merch has been made easy with websites like Teesprings and even Amazon. All you really need to do is design the merch and the website will create it and ship it our after patrons purchase it. If you want to handle the merch yourself just take into account you will have to put up money upfront to get the merch design, created, printed, and shipped. This can be alot for someone that doesn’t have much time but is definitely doable.
Perform
As an artist you should be performing! Honestly this is one of the most exciting parts about being an artist and a big way you will make money Touring and performing puts you in front of people that honestly have probably have never heard of you. It is an opportunities to gain new fans and interact with your loyal followers.
Network
Your network is your networth! If you are at a show even if you are NOT performing you should be talking to promoters, connecting with artist and creatives! You never know who is at a show and who they know and can connect you with. Alot of people get put on by their friends and not random people they do not know.
Get Business Cards/ scan cards /stickers
Getting any of these can really help your brand and build awarenness about your music.
Business cards- If you are at a show and networking it will be very easy to just give someone a business card. I would recommend doing this if you are more than just an artist.
Scan Cards- Getting scan cards with bar codes linking to your music are a great way to send people directly to your music. Leave these at businesses, bars, and places with high volume traffic.
Stickers- Have you ever been to a venue and went to the bathroom and there is a sticker in the stall, on the napkins, on a door. This is a more gorilla style marketing strategy but it works! Get stickers and take them everywhere and stick them in places with high volume traffic. Ask permission as well!
Build a Website
Create a website to connect your supporters to everything whether that’s multiple projects, your social media, and everything else you are working on! This will also serve as the home for your merchandise shop and show schedule.
Use Social Media
DUHHHHH! If you are not already doing this you are bugging! Make sure when you are distributing your music to streaming platforms you are also including social media to that list. For example make sure you music is in the social media music libraries of Instagram, YouTube, and Tik Tok so people can discover and use your sounds to create content.
Collab
Work with other artist, producers, photographers, promoters, influencers, bloggers, pod casters. Whoever you can! Cross promoting is huge! Again this goes back to your network being your net worth!
Get Placements
This maybe the hardest of all this promotional tools. Getting placed in comercials, tv shows, webseries, youtube videos, movies, and radio take work especially when you are not a well know artist! Make a list of public relations reps, music supervisors, program directors, and anyone that can put your music infront of people in a bigger platform. Make sure all of your music is copywritten as well.
Hopefully theses tips help you on your musical journey!
