Dress for the occasion where are yall going
Ladies please do not show up to a hiking date in heels just don’t! Make sure you are prepared for any kind of date and dress comfortably for it!
Bring deodorant and perfume
Naturally you are nervous! It’s the first freaking date! OMG! So you might get a little sweaty so to avoid wet stains and potentially BO bring deodorant, perfume, depending on how big your bag is bring tips stay fresh and smelling good!
Bring gum
One of the worst things that can happen is having awful breath! Your date will NEVER EVER NEVER forget!
Prepare talking points
If you are awkward (like me) and are not the best at small talk. Prepare actual talking points. Also you should be taking this time to get to know each other so you do not waste time when you are not even compatible
Don’t talk about your ex
A huge red flag is someone that talks about their ex. If they ask that’s different but if you voluntarily bash your ex be warned you will pay for it!
Watch First Date 101 below!
Be aware of your body language
Lean in when they speak it will make them feel you are actually interested in what you have to say! Don’t do too much slouching. Pleaseeee do not roll your eyes or just be rude.
Listen so you can respond effectively
You have 1 mouth and 2 ears for a reason. You should listen more than you speak. In addition no one likes a know it all./ If you actually listen, process, and then respond the conversations will be much smoother unless they are a narcissist.
Be open
Make sure to face your date. Have your arms in a comfortable position NOTTT folded. Folding your arms makes you appear aggressive and closed minded.
Talk about your interests
Let your date learn what you like early on. It will give your something to talk about and you can see if they were paying attention later!
Be honest
DON’T LIE! Lying is bad in general. Once you tell one you have to keep lying to keep the story going. You should want your date to like you for the real you not someone that doesn’t exist.
Go with your instinct
If you feel uncomfortable at any time be vocal about it!
