How to batch content and plan your Instagram Feed

Want to know how Influencers post sooo much content consistently? Well stick around! I'm going to teach you how to batch content and plan your feed.

What's Batching?

What's content batching? Content batching a technique where you create alot of content ahead of time. It is super effective for growing your channel! It also takes away the stress of trying to rush and create things every single day then immediately post!

How to Batch?

Heres the 5 step breakdown!

  • Identify your content pillars and/or buckets

  • Breakdown your Analytics

  • Brainstorm Content Ideas

  • Create a content Calendar

  • Create the content- Pic, Videos, Blogs ... etc

  • Schedule the Content Calendar

Pillars and Buckets

Figuring out what your pillars are is the first step. This is a list of all the things you want to include. This can be 3-5 topics you plan to consistently post about that best reflect your brand.

Try writing down what you want people to take from your page! For example: diversity, inclusion, feminity, motivation. These are 4 topics a brand that in catered to empowering women can use.

Another example...If you are a person with many hats and you make music, love fashion, acting , and fitness, first off that's a lot lol but break down how to can incorporate all these things. Having your pillars established will help you stay more organized and never run out of content.

Analytic Breakdown

Take a look at your analytics and see what are your top 5 performing posts. See what they have in common. This will give you an understanding of what your audience responds to most.

A couple things to look for are:

  • What time did I post this?

  • What tags and hashtags were used?

  • Was there a call to action?

  • What type of engagement did this get (shares, saves)

Once you have broken down what works and doesn't it's off to the drawing board1

Brainstorm Content Ideas

Here comes the fun part! Write down all your ideas and put them in a idea google doc Grab ideas from Youtube, save them on Instagram in a collection, or in a board on Pinterest.

Making "series" ideas can be very helpful as well. A "series" is something you can ideate or continue to make in different ways. Example: 30 outfits for fall 30 outfits for winter, 30outfits for spring

Get it?

Creating series are cool and give you a chance to create a great idea in new ways!

Followers on all platforms like series because it give them something to look forward to and gives you something to be known for.

Lastly make sure you reference you r content pillars while doing this.

Create Content Calendar

Now that you have all these ideas and know what your pillars are lets organize them into a plan that's sure to win.

First you need a calendar! You can create a calendar on Word doc and save it to google drive. Now that you have the calendar is time to fill it in with ideas.

Below is an example of a content calendar. I have included 3 different ways you can add content ideas and then indicate when completed

Line 2 - You can write what social platform you need to create content for and put a check mark to know if you have scheduled it or not

Line 3- Writing the type of content you want to include, then initial when scheduling is complete.

Line 4- This is specific to Instagram and it's various post types. Place where you want to picture, reel, or carousel, then cross it out once complete.

These are a lot of different way. Use what feel best for you!

Create Content

Finally!!! After you have created the content calendar lets make the content on it! It's time to write that blog posts, take those pics, film that video (and edit). I suggest having certain days designated to writing the content, making the content, then scheduling. You will find doing all 3 at once will be extremely overwhelming especially if you have a full-time job or just other things to do in general.

Schedule the Content

After you've made al your amazing content. Lets pull out that content calendar and schedule them on their l platforms. You usually can schedule content for free in their native platform but if not (like tik tok) just draft them and set a timer when you plan on posting. If this seems like alot scheduling in multiple platforms separately them you might want to look a scheduling platforms like Hootsuite, Later, Engage. I am not sponsored by any on these but I have used them as previous jobs and I have to say they do work well. So that's an option.

Well you're done! I hope this was helpful let me know if it was and see you at the next part of the series!

I use the preview app to invisibly see what my Instagram feed will look like and move things around.
